Timepiece inspired by world of Jules Verne

Vulcania is the name Fabrice Gonet has chosen for his second watch recently designed. The amazing timekeeping creation was inspired by the world Jules Verne described in his books and inherited its name from the mysterious Vulcania Island. The watch is designed in the spirit of the novelist's imaginary machines, still keeping in touch with the modern world.

The ground-breaking movement of the timepiece represents a gyrotourbillon absolutely unique to HD3. The mechanism was developed in cooperation with BNB. The naval world with its great ships and the first submarines served as a source of inspiration for all the details featured by the timepiece. The zest of Vulcania is the vitality of the movement parts displayed.

The Vulcania watch shows the time in the most unconventional way one may think of. It shows the hours on a wheel through a lateral porthole, while the minutes are displayed on a disc reminding a ship's Chadburn telegraph. The indicator of the 80-hour power reserve is reminiscent of a sextant. The design of the timepiece is also special due to a porthole that allows seeing the winding mechanism of the movement.

The case back of the Vulcania sports a porthole on the main plate created in the spirit of the Nautilus submarine. The map of the mysterious Vulacania Island together with its coordinates has been engraved on the sapphire glass back.

The technical development and designing process of the Vulcania watch required about 2000 hours of work.

As for the bracelet of the timepiece, it provides improved ergonomics and supreme comfort of wearing. Its folding clasp was exclusively developed by HD3 Complication. The watch's strap offers the choice between black rubber, matt black crocodile skin or black vintage leather.

The Vulcania has been produced in a strictly limited edition of 11 pieces in titanium and platinum.
